….and so Kupe pursued the giant wheke/octopus across the ocean from Hawaiki to Aotearoa. He chased the wheke into Raukawa/Cook Strait, where a bloody battle was fought. As the wheke thrashed about, its many arms carved deep gashes into the land and the sea rushed in.
Te Hoiere/Pelorus Sound is one of those arms.

A fantastic new playground is 100 mitres away from your suite. Bring the skateboard for the skate park. Catch yellow eyed mullet off the end of the wharf 100 mitres away.

We are near the half way point on the on the world famous Te Araroa walking track that stretches the full length of Aotearoa.
We are surrounded by swimming holes and walking tracks.
The Pelorus Mail Boat departs within 100 metres of your suite and offers a spectacular day on the water. The Marlborough wine district, with its many world class eateries, is 30 minutes' drive.
